Mental Health First Aid Awareness in partnership with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Fair Employment Charter!

3D Training have been working in partnership with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to provide a one day mental health first aid awareness training session, to over 70 individuals from diverse industry backgrounds.

Mental health awareness training is essential for organisations, equipping employees with the knowledge and skills to identify, address, and support mental health issues in the workplace. Additionally, it fosters a positive mental health culture, promoting well-being and understanding across organisations.

During the training sessions, participants acquired essential knowledge about common mental health conditions and their effects on individuals. They explored practical strategies for managing mental health issues and learned to identify early warning signs for someone who might need support. The course also provided guidance on seeking further assistance and enabled participants to create action plans to implement their learning within their teams and organisations, promoting a supportive and proactive approach to mental health.

“The delivery was excellent, Sheila was fab! It felt like a really safe space to discuss different scenarios and situations and I’ll put into practice many new skills and strategies, as well as prioritising my own well-being”

Six courses were delivered, and throughout each session, participants exchanged and discussed best practices and valuable resources for supporting staff within their organisations, as well as for personal use. The classroom transformed into a safe and inclusive space, allowing individuals to share their personal experiences with mental health and actively participate in group activities.

Real-life case studies were employed to illustrate scenarios involving individuals experiencing poor mental health, offering participants an opportunity to deliberate in groups on how they would provide support. Each group devised a plan and shared it with their peers. Shelia, the course tutor, provided guidance and solutions to participants facing challenges with their case studies, ultimately helping the group understand how to navigate difficult circumstances.

“My favourite part of the sessions was the case studies. They were very challenging (in a positive way) which was perfect for the topic”

75.5% of learners rated the course ‘Excellent’ in providing effectiveness in helping to gain new knowledge and acquire new skills.
