Family Hub in Partnership with 3D Training

Family Hubs are designed to bring the community together and offer a ‘one stop’ shop for children and families in Wirral, re-defining the way families connect with support and local services all under one roof. They provide information and support to adults in those families addressing topics such as lifelong learning, employment, parenting, as well as health and wellbeing and much more.

Over recent months, 3D have been working in partnership with Family Hub, The Bungalow at Grove Street Primary School. Delivering awareness sessions and qualifications to parents. These courses cover a variety of topics including Neurodiversity, Specific Learning Difficulties and Understanding Behaviour That Challenges. By working together, we are able to reach more parents and provide them with the resources they need in a convenient and supportive setting.

“I have attended three courses so far and each one has been informative and helpful. It’s been an absolute godsend having the courses located at the school. If it wasn’t at the school I’d miss half the course with travelling to and from. I’ve found the challenging behaviours course an eye-opener and learnt so much more than what’s just on the surface of any behaviour. Jenny the tutor is amazing, she turns up each week with a smile and ready to go, she is so down to earth and makes you feel so welcome, she dives into the nitty-gritty of the subject and is so supportive. “Having the school be somewhere that facilitates some interesting courses has been great. To better understand the impact of our courses, we conducted a Q&A with one of the parents who has benefited from our partnership with Family Hubs.

What motivated you to participate in the courses we offer at the Family Hub?

I have two sons with additional needs, I wanted to gain more knowledge to be able to support them both. I wanted to learn new strategies and have the opportunity to listen to other parents’ experiences

What did you enjoy most about the course?

I enjoyed meeting other parents and being able to discuss our experiences. In particular, I enjoyed learning about the legislation, which was eye-opening. I even learnt some new maths skills from the activities we did during the sessions.

Would you recommend 3D Training and its courses?

100%. Knowledge is power, it has helped and I will always remember and look back at what I have learnt. I think more parents and their partners should do these courses to enable them to have a better understanding. I look forward to continuing on to the next course in September.
